Sharad Pawar- 'PM Modi has a good grip on administration'

Mumbai: 81-year-old NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who was Agriculture Minister in the previous UPA government, has praised PM Narendra Modi. In a function on Wednesday, the Nationalist Congress Party chief told that PM Narendra Modi has a good hold on the administration and this is his strong side. Apart from this, Pawar kept his hold on many other issues. Sharad Pawar lauded PM Narendra Modi's style of working, saying that once he does a task, he makes sure to complete it. Pawar told that Modi tries hard and gives enough time to complete the work.

He said that Modi's nature is such that once he takes up any task, he will ensure that it will not stop till it (work) reaches its conclusion. Pawar pointed out that the Prime Minister emphasizes on how the administration and its facilitators can come together to ensure effective implementation of the policies of his government. Modi has a different way of carrying his helpers along and that style was not there in former prime ministers like Manmohan Singh.

Pawar said that I and the then PM Manmohan Singh were of the opinion that the politics of vengeance should not be done against the then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi. He said that apart from me, there was no other minister in the UPA government who could discuss with Modi as he used to attack the Manmohan Singh government continuously. Pawar told that when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I was at the Centre. When the prime minister used to call a meeting of all chief ministers, Modi used to lead a group of chief ministers of BJP ruled states and attacked the Centre. He said that in such a situation, a plan was made on how to respond to Modi.
