Mumbai: Today, the Indian stock market saw a good jump. The BSE 30-share index Sensex gained 646.40 points, or 1.69 per cent, to close at 38,840.32. Nse's 50-share index nifty gained 171.25 points, or 1.52 per cent, to close at 11,449.25 points. Reliance Industries shares in the Sensex pack were Taapsee Gainer. Reliance shares registered a surge of over 7 per cent. Reliance's market value has risen to Rs 14,66,589.53 crore after afternoon trading. On Wednesday, the company announced a partnership with US private equity firm Silver Lake. Reliance has bought 1.75 per cent of its shares for Rs 7,500. RIL shares jumped 8.45 per cent to reach a recorded high. The price of RIL's share in BSE has gone up to Rs 2,343.90. Nse's share price rose by 8.49% to Rs 2,344.95. This is the highest ever. Thereafter, the gamer list included shares of Asian paints, AXIS Bank, Ultratec Cement, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finance. On the other hand, shares of Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank and Titan closed down with a decline. Traders said the domestic stock market traded sharply under RIL's leadership. The stock markets of Shanghai and Hong Kong closed with a decline while the stock markets of Seoul and Tokyo closed with an edge.
