Stock market closed record high for second day in a row

New Delhi: The market rose for the second day in a row and the stock market set a new record. The Sensex gained 151 points, to 54,555, and the Nifty gained 22 points, to 16,280. During today's trading, the Sensex had touched a high of 54,779 and the Nifty had touched a high of 16,359. This is now the new record.

Today, 15 shares in 30 closed in the green and 15 in the red. Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra and HDFC remained today's top gainers. Tata Steel, PowerGrid, NTPC, and ITC were among today's top losers. The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies closed at Rs 236.82 lakh crore. Midcap, smallcap stocks registered a tremendous sell-off in today's trade. Metal stocks were the highest selling. Realty, power stocks saw pressure. However, IT stocks remained in green color. Banking, pharma stocks saw a slight rise.

Profits of companies:-

CAMS's profit surged from Rs 39 crore to Rs 63 crore in its first quarter and revenue has increased from Rs 149 crore to Rs 201 crore. MOTHERSON SUMI has made profits from losses in its first quarter. The company has made a profit of Rs 289.6 crore against a loss of Rs 810 crore during this period. On the other hand, income has increased from Rs 8,348.4 crore to Rs 16,157.4 crore.
