On the last trading day of the week, the stock market opened on Friday. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index Sensex opened with a gain of nearly 99.02 points today at 40,878.61. On one hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened today at 12,047.35 with a jump of about 28.95 points. While writing the news, out of 50 stocks of the Nifty, 12 stocks were trading green mark 36 red mark and 2 shares without any change. The 30-share Sensex fell 71 points to close at 40,779 on Thursday, following day-long volatility. The 50-share Nifty also fell nearly 25 points to close at 12,018. Apart from this, shares of Yes Bank, Zee Limited, ONGC, UPL, ITC, TCS, Infosys are among the declining stocks. Talking about the rupee, the rupee opened at 71.26 today against the dollar. On the previous trading day, the rupee had closed at 71.29 against the dollar. The Sensex was up 172.54 points or 0.42 percent and was at 40,952.13. The Nifty was at 28.95 points, or 0.24 percent, and was at 12,047.35.
