Shiva Thapa: India's youngest to qualify Olympics

Dubbed as a teenage boxing sensation, Shiva Thapa emerged as one of the most promising boxers in the international arena and became the youngest Indian pugilist at the age of just 18 years to qualify and represented India at the London Olympics Games 2012.

He was busy trying his hand at Karate, athletics and football to start with before catching the phenomenal Mike Tyson on television that charmed him into taking up boxing. And, after that, there was no looking back Shiva Thapa rose on to become one of the brightest starts, and today India’s boxing lovers are pinning their hopes on him.

Shiva Thapa entered the Indian Boxing ring with a sensational bang – managed to get the London Olympics ticket in style by fetching a Gold medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in 2012. Prior to that, he won the Silver medal at the World Youth Championships and the Youth Olympic Games, Singapore. In year 2013 he becomes the youngest and 3rd Indian in Boxing history to win Gold in Amman, Jordan. He also becomes the first Indian to sign with a foreign franchise USA team in the World Series Boxing (WSB) United State of America
