Shoma Anand became popular by playing negative roles, one mistake that destroyed her career

Shoma Anand is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood. She needs no introduction. She was present in almost every movie of her time in supporting roles. Shoma Anand started heracting career with Bollywood films. The actress made her debut with Rishi Kapoor. After this film, she appeared in important roles in films like 'Jigar', 'Coolie'. After doing a couple of films, when Shoma did not get the role of the lead actress, she started doing supporting roles. She received fame by playing the roles like sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother instead of lead actress. Shoma Anand plays various characters on the big screen.

Shoma was doing good the industry. However her one mistake destroyed her all career. Shoma got married to producer and director Tariq Shah proved to be the biggest mistake of her career. After marriage, Shoma did not get family support and she went away from the big screen. She was very clear that she will not stop acting and for this she started appearing on TV which proved to be a milestone for her. She started with the TV serial Hum Paanch and this was an another milestone in her career.

After re-entering in Bollywood, Shoma got many roles. After this, the 2003 film Hungama increased her popularity. In this film, she played the role of Paresh Rawal's wife.  She also received a nomination for the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for this performance. She played the character of a village woman to a modern city lady in the film.
