Ayodhya: The waiting for centuries of millions of Ram devotees is going to end soon. It is reported that the work of building the Ram Mandir will be taken up from the first month of this year. Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, cashier of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Area Trust, informed that the work on the foundation of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will commence this month and the construction of the temple complex is expected to be completed in about three and a half years. He further said, "How the foundations have been built has been decided recently. The excavation has started, but the actual foundation construction has not yet started. It will start in January this." They were questioned whether the construction of the temple has formally begun and if not, when it will start. When questioned about the full cost of the project, he said that he estimates that the construction of the main temple inside the complex should cost Rs. 300 to 400 crore. Maharaj said the entire cost could be more than Rs 1100 crore, including Rs 300 to 400 crore on the main temple and the cost of development of 67 acres within the premises. He said the construction of the temple is likely to be completed within three to three and a half years. Giri Ji Maharaj said that a donation of over 100 crore rupees has been collected. On asking whether donations from abroad would be accepted for temple construction, he said that at present he is not allowed because the Foreign Donation Regulation Act (FCRA) does not have the facility.
