Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik has provided specific information in the Lok Sabha. Under which India is exporting bulletproof jackets to 18 countries. The country has the capacity to produce 1 million bulletproof jackets every year to meet domestic and export needs. The army recruited 54,815 personnel in 2016-17, 52,839 in 2017-18 and 57,266 personnel in 2018-19. Maximum 18,906 personnel were recruited from Uttar Pradesh, 15,455 from Punjab and Chandigarh, 11,866 from Maharashtra and 10,382 from Haryana. 8,752 personnel were recruited from Himachal Pradesh and 8,966 from Uttarakhand and a total of 5,275 personnel were recruited from Nepal.
