Silver futures mount Rs 140 on worldwide cues

Silver prices spurted by Rs 140 to Rs 40,785 per kg in futures trade as investors built up positions during a higher universal trend.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for relief in far-month July was trading upper by Rs 140, or 0.31 %, to Rs 40,785 per kg in a business income of 70 lots.

Also, the white metal for escape in May was up by Rs 121, or 0.30 %, to Rs 40,106 per kg in 576 lots. Analysts said, “Investor created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend which influenced silver futures prices”. However, silver increased 0.12 % to USD 16.97 an ounce in Singapore today.
