Smriti Irani's taunt on Priyanka Gandhi's slogan

New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday attacked Rahul Gandhi, hitting back at Congress party national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi's slogan 'Am A Girl, Can Fight.' Smriti Irani has said that the boy is at home, but cannot fight on. According to media reports, Smriti Irani also took a dig at former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav at an event.

Smriti Irani said that elections in Uttar Pradesh will be fought on the issue of development and we hope that there will be a discussion on policy and development based issues and strengthening democracy. Priyanka Gandhi had announced tickets to 40 per cent of women in the UP assembly elections last month and gave the slogan that I am a Girl, I can fight. Now, taking a dig at this, Smriti Irani said, "This means that there is a boy at home, but he can't fight." On Priyanka Gandhi's proposal to give 40 per cent tickets to women candidates, Smriti Irani said, 'This means that she is saying that Priyanka does not want to give 60 per cent tickets to women.''

Smriti Irani said, "I am not saying that people should not strive in democracy and politics. Defeat and victory are two sides of the world. I also lost in 2014. But the question is how much people believe in your struggles.'' Referring to Rahul Gandhi, she said, 'Do people have a feeling for this person.'
