Sonchiriya box office collection: Sushant Singh Rajput’s film falls flat on Day 2

Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar starrer Sonchiriya opened to a poor opening at the box-office on Saturday as it collected a meagre Rs 1.50 crore. The growth from Friday, when the film had minted Rs 1.20 crore, is almost negligble. The total collection stands of the movie  Rs 2.70 crore.

Abhishek Chaubey directorial’s current collection suggests that in a scenario such as this, the film may not touch double digits even in its lifetime. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who has been following the business of Sonchiriya, summed up its business in a tweet posted Sunday afternoon. He wrote, “#SonChiriya falls flat on Day 2... Minimal growth on Sat is not good news at all, seals the fate... Fri 1.20 cr, Sat 1.50 cr. Total: ₹ 2.70 cr. India biz.”At the box-office, Sonchiriya is competing against the Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Luka Chuppi. The latter, in two days, has collected over Rs 18 crore and is currently the top choice of moviegoers.

Talking about Sonchiriya, it is loaded with gritty action scenes, managed to impress a host of movie reviewers across the country but it seems that it failed to please the audience.
