Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Nahid Hasan, who has been in jail for 10 and a half months in a gangster act case in Uttar Pradesh, will be released from jail on Saturday (December 3). After the submission of bail forms, the court issued an order to the Chitrakoot jail superintendent for the release of MLA Nahid Hasan. On January 15, the Kairana police arrested SP MLA Nahid Hasan and produced him before the MPMLA court in Kairana. On Friday (December 2), Nahid Hasan's lawyers submitted two bail forms of Rs 1 lakh each to the MPMLA court in Kairana for the MLA's bail. The forms of both the bailees were verified by the Tehsil and police station. In the evening, the court issued an order to the Chitrakoot jail superintendent to release the MLA. At the same time, he left for Chitrakoot jail with the order of the court advocate. The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday granted bail to SP MLA from Kairana Nahid Hasan, who was booked under the stringent Gangsters Act. Hasan has been in jail since January. Hasan, a two-time MLA, had recently won the state elections from Kairana in Shamli district while in jail. He defeated BJP's Mriganka Singh by 25,887 votes.
