Just after Air Asia announced 50% discounts on return fares, Spice Jet, to mark its 11th anniversary announced tickets under Rs.511 offer. It will be a 3 day offer which will include payment of additional taxes on tickets purchased under the offer and shall be available for the domestic sector.
The scheme shall be applicable on travel period between June 15, 2016 and September 30, 2016 and will remain open till May 19 midnight for domestic routes like Dehradun, Bagdogra, Udaipur, Jaipur, Goa, Port Blair and Kochi. The sale shall also be applicable on some overseas routes with prices of tickets from Rs.2,111 including travel on Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai and Muscat routes.
Spicejet said "Fares under the anniversary sale are refundable with only statutory taxes will be refunded". These discounts by various airlines are mainly promotional so as to boost sales for them and this June to September period proves to be a lean season for the travel industry.
