Mumbai: SpiceJet, an airline that offers affordable services, has announced 66 new flights to be launched from 28 March on the domestic network. These also include additional flights on some routes. The airline said on Saturday that the new flights would be operated through Boeing 737 and regional jet Bombardier Q400. The company intends to strengthen connectivity between metros and small cities by expanding its network. SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Shilpa Bhatia said, "We are happy to expand our domestic operations. With the start of the summer timetable, we will start 66 new flights. As the largest regional airline company in the country, we are committed to increasing regional connectivity." The airline said in a statement that it has met Darbhanga, Durgapur, Jharsuguda, Gwalior and Nashik from some metros to cater to the travel demand of smaller cities. New flights have been introduced to connect. Initially, SpiceJet connected these cities to the flight plan. SpiceJet said that it will start new flights on the Ahmedabad-Darbhanga-Ahmedabad, Hyderabad-Darbhanga-Hyderabad, Pune-Darbhanga-Pune and Kolkata-Darbhanga-Kolkata routes. Earlier, the airline connected Darbhanga to Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Similarly Durgapur will be connected to Pune. SpiceJet has already connected Durgapur to Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. Jharsuguda will still be connected to Chennai after Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
