SpiceJet: 'Zero Change Fee' Offer On Domestic Flights, stock rise

Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet has launched a 'zero change fee' offer, which enables passengers to change dates or names on their tickets for free up to seven days prior to departure.

As per SpiceJet, this offer will be valid for all bookings made between March 27 and April 4 for travel between March 27 and June 30.  "The offer thus aims to extend significant flexibility and cost savings to all its passengers in these unprecedented times...Fare difference will be applicable for flight changes and shall be payable by the customer," the release noted.

In addition, SpiceJet has agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avenue Capital Group of New York for the financing, acquisition, sale, and lease-back of 50 new planes.

SpiceJet offer is valid on all SpiceJet bookings, including those made through the SpiceJet website, mobile app, reservations, airport ticketing counters, and online travel agencies.

Reacting to the development, Shares of the SPICEJET LTD were seen trading at Rs 70.80, up 2.16 percent on the National Stock Exchange 12.50 pm. In comparison the NSE Nifty stood at  14,741-mark, higher by 50 points in trade.
