Lucknow: The number of mosques and madrasas has increased in a surprising manner in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh bordering Nepal. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has sounded an alert in this regard. The increase in the radius of 15 kilometres is also indicating a major change in demography. According to officials, there were 738 mosques in 2018, which has increased to 1000 in 2021. Similarly, madrasas have also increased from 500 to 645. India shares a 1,751 km long border with Nepal. The areas of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim are bordering this border. Uttar Pradesh has a 570 km long border with Nepal. There are also 30 border police stations in the area. According to media reports, the number of mosques and madrasas has increased in the seven border districts of Uttar Pradesh. These districts include Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Pilibhit and Kheri. According to SSB officials, the construction of mosques and madrasas has increased by about 26 per cent in the last three years, indicating demographic changes in the border areas. Smuggling of fake Indian currency and drug trafficking along the UP-Nepal border has also increased. This is also a matter of concern for India because in the recent past, not only has Pakistan started building safe terrorist bases in Nepal, but China is now looking very active in this small Himalayan country. It was reported in October last year that the number of madrasas in the Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh bordering India and Nepal has increased by 4 times in the last 20 years. Most of the madrasas are open in the border areas of India and Nepal. At that time, there were 597 madrasas in the Siddharthnagar district, out of which 452 were registered, while there was no record of 145 madrasas. Till 1990, there were a total of 16 recognized madrasas in Siddharthnagar. In 2000, the number of these madrasas increased to 147, out of which only 45 recognized madrasas were recognized. Earlier, there were reports of a 2.5-fold increase in the Muslim population in districts adjoining Nepal. What did Swami Vivekananda think about the independence of the country?
