New Delhi: Between elections in four states and one union territory, the government has allowed the issuance of a new batch of electoral bonds. The 16th batch of electoral bonds will be sold today i.e. between April 1 to April 10. It is noteworthy that through electoral bonds, any person or institution can give donations to any political party with complete transparency and honesty. The code of conduct has been in force since March 17 in view of elections in four states. Therefore, no objection has also been obtained from the Election Commission for the issuance of these bonds. The 15th consignment of electoral bonds was earlier sold from 1st to 10th January 2021. "The State Bank of India (SBI) has been approved by its 29-headed branch to issue and encash the 16th phase of electoral bonds between April 1 and April 10, 2021," the Finance Ministry said in a statement. The 29 branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) where electoral bonds can be secured are in these cities- Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Patna, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Srinagar, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Raipur, Mumbai, and Lucknow.
