SRINAGAR: Two children were wounded while one in critical condition when anonymous people patted stones at a school bus this morning in Shopian in south Kashmir. As per Reports of ANI, there were 50 children on the bus and one of the boys was hit on his head, was discharged after treatment. The second boy, a Class 2 student, suffered more harsh head injury and has been referred to a better hospital in Srinagar, the police informed. "The stone pelters hurled stones around 9.25. The bus belongs to Rainbow International School," said police officer Shailendra Kumar. He added that a search is going on for the attackers. The father of one of the wounded boys told media reporters, "My son has been injured in stone pelting, this is against humanity. This could have been anyone's child." There was instant criticism across the political spectrum soon after the incident came to light. In a condemnation bid the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, "Shocked and angered to hear of the attack on a school bus in Shopian. The perpetrators of this senseless and cowardly act will be brought to justice." Chowdhary Zulfikhar Ali, the education minister of the state has also criticized stone patting activities targeting of the school bus.
