Study Alert! Coffee hold up hearing revival from noise

Coffee has been know as one of the most popular drink in the World today. However, new study may give people quite a scare.

The study revealed that drinking caffeine can significantly affect the body's ability to recover from hearing damage.

The finding of the study conducted by the Research Institute at the McGill University Health Centre was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

For the study, experts used guinea pigs, but researchers said they have plans to widen their testing involving people in the future, so the findings will be confirmed by human results.

"Our research confirmed that exposure to loud auditory stimuli coupled with daily consumption of 25mg/kg of caffeine had a clear negative impact on hearing recovery," says Dr Faisal Zawawi, an Otolaryngologist and member of the McGill Auditory Sciences Laboratory.

The maximum recommended intake of caffeine is 3mg/kg a day - the same as three 8oz cups of coffee. Many sodas wildly exceed that guideline, containing more than 200mg per can.
