Subramanian Swamy supports the issue of Bharat Ratna award to Savarkar

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has thrown another card of nationalism in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The BJP, in its manifesto released for this election, has promised to send the proposal to the Center to confer Freedom Fighter Veer Savarkar with the Bharat Ratna. This time, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has made a statement for his statements. He has said that the central government has decided to give Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar. Significantly, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its manifesto regarding the Maharashtra assembly elections.

In the manifesto, BJP has promised that it will provide one crore jobs within five years and at the same time make the state drought-free. The announcement that garnered the most headlines in this manifesto was the sending of the proposal of Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar, Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule, the highest civilian honour of India. Even hours after the announcement of this manifesto, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy tweeted that "good that the government has decided to give Veer Savarkar India". Please tell that there are two opinions in the country about Savarkar. While the saffron family calls it the great son of the country, the opposing camp calls them spies of the British government.
