New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Jail Minister Satyendar Jain have been accused of corruption by Senior Advocate Sukesh Chandrasekhar. A three-member committee headed by the Principal Secretary (Home) constituted to probe the allegations submitted its report on Friday (December 17). In this report, Sukesh has made several revelations to prove his claims. He has told the inquiry committee where, when, to whom, and for what reason he gave Rs 60 crore. According to the report, the inquiry committee had recorded Sukesh's statements at Mandoli jail on November 14 and November 15. Sukesh had told the committee that he had given Rs 50 crore in four installments to Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain at his farmhouse in Asola Mines and Arvind Kejriwal was fully aware of the entire financial transaction. Sukesh told the investigating team that after paying Rs 50 crore in 2017, he (Sukesh) hosted a dinner party at Hotel Hyatt Regency Bhikaji Cama Place, which was attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendar Jain, and Kailash Gahlot. Sukesh said it was in this party that Satyendar Jain introduced him to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. After this, Sukesh spoke to Sisodia on the phone several times. The inquiry committee also met with officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI to verify Sukesh's claims. The committee found all the allegations serious. However, a detailed investigation has been recommended by special agencies (ED and CBI) citing a lack of means for further investigation. Sukesh Chandrasekhar has shared the complete information with ED and CBI. A writ petition has also been filed in the High Court. Sukesh told the inquiry committee, "I gave a total of Rs 60 crore. Of this, Rs 50 crore was given for party posting in the south zone, and a nomination for Rajya Sabha. This amount was given by my secretary Gopinath in 2016 at Kailash Gahlot's farmhouse.'' He said, "The money was paid in multiple installments within 3-4 days at Kailash Gahlot's Asola farm. After giving money to Satyendar Jain and Kailash Gahlot every time, Jain also confirmed it to Arvind Kejriwal over the phone.'' Sukesh further told, "In 2019, I gave Rs 10 crore to Satyendar Jain to provide security in jail. In this way, I gave a total of Rs 60 crore." Talking about giving proof of all these transactions, Sukesh said ''I am ready to provide all WhatsApp chats between me and Satyendar Jain, which confirm payment details, delivery time, and place of delivery.'' Sukesh said that I do not remember the number from which I had contacted the DG with reference to the alleged payment to the then DG (Prisons), but I have screenshots of WhatsApp chats with him. I also gave money to DG Jail, his driver, and other employees like Warden Sanjay and Assistant Superintendent Dharam Singh Meena. Describing the place, Sukesh said, 'I gave money to DG Jail at Bharat Petrol Pump in Civil Lines and Haldiram Sweets shop in Model Town. I don't have the number plate of the car he came in. But he had come in a white-colored Ciaz car.' These revelations of Sukesh can create a lot of trouble for Kejriwal. However, now it will be interesting to see whether any action is taken against Satyendar Jain, Kailash Gehlot, and Arvind Kejriwal or not.
