Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal is trying to corner the government for the production and sale of illegal liquor in Punjab. He will sit on a protest on August 11 outside the residence of Congress Party Sonia Gandhi against the matter. More than 100 poor people lost their lives in this illegal liquor scandal. CM will sit on a dharna to demand the resignation of Punjab and break the silence on the allegation that 70 percent of Congress congressmen from Punjab join. In Punjab more than 100 people died due to drinking poisonous liquor. CM Amarinder Singh expelled seven excise officers and six policemen in this case. This information was given by the officials there. The government had announced a compensation of two lakh rupees for the families of the deceased. 25 people have also been detained in this case. Apart from this, 63 deaths have occurred in Tarn Taran due to poisonous liquor, followed by 12 in Amritsar and 11 in Batala of Gurdaspur. In the tragedy that started on Wednesday night in the state, 39 people died till Friday night. According to an official statement, the chief minister ordered the suspension of seven excise officers along with six policemen. The suspended officers included two Deputy Superintendents of Police and four Police Station Incharge. CM said that if any government officers or others are found involved in this case, strict action will be taken against them. He said that the failure of the police and excise department to stop the production and sale of poisonous liquor has come to the fore.
