New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday said it is happy to know that the government has decided to cancel the class XII board examinations and directed CBSE and CISCE to submit objective criteria for evaluation of marks within two weeks. A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari asked Attorney General K K Venugopal and advocate J K Das appearing for CISCE to submit the norms within two weeks. The court said, "We are happy that the government has decided to cancel the 12th standard board examinations, but we want the general criteria for evaluation of marks to be presented to us. ''The court clarified that it will not give any more time to submit the criteria as many students will take admission in colleges in India and abroad". The Supreme Court said it will look into the general norms for evaluation of marks so that anyone has any objection to it can be resolved. The court said, "It is equally important along with the petitioner's demand to cancel the board examinations.
