Supreme court justice addressing webinar lauded film 'The Great Indian Kitchen'

The Great Indian Kitchen has made a great buzz on social media. The film is directed by Director Joe Baby. People have praised the film. The film is complemented by critics to fans and has made the headlines.

Supreme Court Judge Chandrachud has also talked about the film during a virtual event. Justice Chandrachud is one who marked the judgment of allowing women’s entry inside the Sabarimala temple. She lauded the film calling it poignantly engaging. She also explained in the vent that how the film is connected with the Sabarimala judgment. The director of the film, Joe has shared the video of justice on his Facebook space. In the video, Justice Chandrachud said she has recently watched a Malayalam movie The Great Indian Kitchen, which was released and nominated for the Shanghai International Film Festival of 2021. She further said that “film charted out the compounding indignities that the bride faced in unpaid and thankless labour that was exerted in domestic chores and cooking. The denial of her ambitions to work a job of her choice, and finally, the harsh isolation and associated untouchability when she was menstruating."

Talking about the film, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan were the lead roles in The Great Indian Kitchen. Film after gaining huge popularity, Amazon Prime acquired its releasing rights. Reportedly, after such laud, the film is currently being remade in the Tamil language with Aishwarya Rajesh as the leading lady.
