Suspended BJP leader Jayaprakash Majumdar joined TMC, Mamta gave a big responsibility

Kolkata: Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jai Prakash Majumdar has today joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. CM Mamta Banerjee was also present when Majumdar joined TMC. He was presented the party flag by senior TMC leader Firhad Hakim.

On joining TMC, Mamta Banerjee said that Jayaprakash Majumdar will take over the responsibility of the party's state vice-president. Let us inform that Majumdar was already suspended by the state BJP unit for making anti-party rhetoric. Majumdar is accused of making controversial statements against BJP IT Cell President Amit Malviya. Let us tell you that after the poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Bengal civic elections, questions have started arising.

The leaders within the party have started questioning the high command. The BJP, which won 77 seats for the first time in the Bengal assembly elections held in 2021, could not win a single seat in the civic polls. While the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC retained its momentum, winning 102 out of 108 seats.
