‘Swachh Bharat ka irada kar liya hum ne’ too loudly for Indoreans

INDORE: Taking cognizance into the numerous complaints receive about the loud noise in the past few days, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has decided to lower down decibel levels of Kailash Kher’s ‘Swachh Bharat ka irada kar liya hum ne’ song at least by 50 percent.

Large number of citizens in past few days who raised their complaint with IMC claimed that the high decibel level has caused inconvenience to many.

The song was recurrently played in the 300 garbage tippers that were introduced for door-todoor garbage collection in the municipality limits.

“We have received several complaints from the residents about the loud music played in the garbage tippers. The loudness was indeed irritating, so we will lower the sound by at least 50%,” said municipal commissioner Manish Singh.

Singh said that they had earlier issued instruction to the tipper drivers to maintain a particular sound level, which was grossly ignored.

The municipal commissioner said that the sound would be kept at minimum during evening time.

“Some residents have raised concerns about noise pollution. We are also concerned about the same and would consider replacing the song in future,” he said.

However, the song is liked by many, Singh said, adding, “It is a part of our awareness campaign about waste management and garbage collection. We are in the process of inculcating a new habit among the people. The song is intended to drill the idea of door-to-door disposal in them. Once we are done with it, it would not be required to make such noise.”
