Today is the birthday of Swami Ramdev, who once cycled and sold medicines in the streets of Haryana. Swami Ramdev is celebrating his 57th birthday today. Today Swami Ramdev is the greatest yoga guru in India. Swami Ramdev was born on December 25, 1965, in a simple village called Ali Syedpur in Mahendragarh district of Haryana state in India. You all hardly know that the childhood name of Baba Ramdev was Ramakrishna. Yes, and her mother, Smt. Gulab Devi, is a devout woman and her father, Shri Ram Niwas Yadav, is a dutiful householder. It is said that as a child, Baba Ramdev used to watch the photo of revolutionary Ram Prasad 'Bismil' and freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose for hours and thought that he would do something similar when he grew up. He completed his studies at the government school in the nearby village of Shahzadpur till class VIII and after that Baba Ramdev studied Sanskrit and Yoga from Acharya Pradyumna and Yogacharya Baldevji at a gurukul in Khanpur village. However, Baba Ramdev wanted to do something and left his parents and brothers and sisters forever like Swami Ramtirtha to fulfil this desire. In that case, he resolved to retire at an early age and the previous Ramakrishna descended into a new form of Swami Ramdev. From 1995, he started working tirelessly to make Yoga popular and universal. It is said that for some time Kalwa Gurukul went to Jind and taught yoga free of cost and then went out to practice meditation and perception in the Himalayas. After attaining siddhi from there, he studied ancient books and manuscripts and came to Haridwar and stayed at Kripalu Bagh Ashram in Kanakhal. This is where he got the turning point in his life. Baba Ramdev then conveyed the power of Yoga to the people through TV and that is where he became famous. Today, baba has many devotees not only in the country but also abroad. Baba values Yoga and asks people to stay healthy with yoga and herbs.
