T20 World Cup: Most experienced Shoaib Malik not included in the team? Afridi furious

New Delhi: Almost all the big teams have announced their squads for the T20 World Cup. India has also announced its team, while recently the neighbouring country Pakistan has announced its team, but there is a ruckus on it. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has also questioned the team selection, he has expressed displeasure over the non-inclusion of Shoaib Malik in the team.

Shahid Afridi said that Shoaib Malik has played T20 cricket all over the world, and his performance has been consistently better. If Babar Azam had taken him in the team, it would have been very beneficial. Even if Shoaib Malik was not in the playing XI, his presence would have proved to be very beneficial. Shahid Afridi said that if he was not part of the plan, then the selectors should have told him long ago. Let me tell you that recently senior Pakistan player Mohammad Hafeez also retired, so 40-year-old Shoaib Malik is the only player who has a lot of experience.

Shoaib Malik has played a total of 124 T20 matches in his T20 International career, in which he has 2,435 runs to his name. At the same time, he has also taken 25 wickets, whether it is coming to the middle order and handling the innings or scoring fast runs, Shoaib Malik has improved his performance as a T20 player in the recent past. That is why Afridi was advocating to take him in the team.

Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup: Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, and Usman Qadir.
