Reports from the Tamil Nadu government suggest that the TN government has proposed a ban for New Year celebrations in beaches, clubs, resorts and restaurants. The ban will be in place for two days both on the eve of New year, 31st December and 1st January. This order was passed to reduce the viral spread. As per the source there is no midnight celebrations . The celebrations would not be allowed on the beach roads, private beaches, resorts and hotels on the new year eve. Reports also said that the beaches might be closed for public access who visit as a group, on the New year day. This announcement over the new year celebration comes on a time when the government is slowly relaxing its restrictions after a stringent lockdown period of nearly 8 months. Also the regular functionality of the hotels, restaurants, entertainment hubs and resorts shall continue with the current SOPs in place, said the report. Tamil Nadu which was one of the highest Covid 19 hit state is now reporting less than 1500 cases a day and the Government does not want to take a test again as it will affect both the people and the economy.
