Chennai: Farmers are facing a double whammy during the Corona period. Meanwhile, in Thiruthani, Tamil Nadu, a farmer was forced to plough his farm by bicycle. The farmer's son and other family members are also sharing his hand in the work. Nagaraj, 37, traditionally cultivated paddy to handle his ancestral farm. But, they began to lose it. Nagaraj decided to grow Sammangi-Champak crop. Let us tell you that its flowers are used in many ways. The family took a loan and levelled the land of the farm. Worked for 6 months and waited for the plants to grow. Unfortunately, the temples were closed due to lockdown after the flowers grew up. The wedding ceremony also came to a standstill. Nagaraj was in trouble all year. Savings also ended, meanwhile, the worry of repaying the loan continued to grow. After which they did not give up and have once again started working for the same crop. This time he used his son's bicycle as a solution. The bicycle was built as a farm-tillable instrument and engaged with the son at work. With the help of his brother and son, Nagaraj decided to compensate for the losses in the last few months. He started working continuously in the field for several hours while ploughing the land with his new equipment. He explained that "I am using my son's bicycle to plough farm. When there is no way to live, there is no help from anywhere, I have found this way to plough the field." He hopes that this time his crop will definitely be sold and some money will come in hand to run the household expenses.
