Tamil Nadu to receive spells of rain over the next two days

Tamil Nadu is expected to have light spells of rain for the next two days. According to the reports of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Over southeast and east-central portions of the Arabian sea, a low-pressure mode has been spotted off to the Karnataka coast. As a result of which the effects of associated cyclonic circulation will cause rain in northern and southern parts of the state.

Though Chennai will not see heavy rains but regions surrounding the capital are likely to receive good showers. As per IMD, on September 8, light to average rain is likely to happen at a few places over Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupathur,  Kancheepuram, Kallakuruchi, Erode, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Ranipet, Nagapattinam, Dindigul, Theni, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar and Madurai districts of Tamil Nadu. Light rains are also expected at places near Karaikal and Pondicherry area.

Meanwhile, in Western Tamilnadu heavy rains are expected, including Erode, Dindigul, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Namakkal,  Dharmapuri and Salem districts. On September 9, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Puducherry and Karaikal. The monsoon condition of Chennai has been predicted to be cloudy for the next two days. In some area, light rain is expected and the maximum temperature could go up to 35 degrees, the minimum would remain at 26 degrees.
