Amrita Pritam, a popular Punjab writer and poet is remembered by Bollywood on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of She was given a special tribute by actress Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee had shared a clip of his film Manmarjiyaan which was a dedicated to Amrita. Let us tell you that the 2003 Pinjar was directed by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. The film is based on a novel called Pinjar written by Amrita Pritam. Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee and Sanjay Suri played lead roles in the film. The film also won the National Award for Best Film on National Integration. Amrita, born 100 years ago in the year 1919 in Gujranwala district of Punjab, spent most of her time in Lahore and studied there.
