India premier Automaker Tata Motors has launched the Nexon, Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions. Prices for the Nexon Red Dark Edition start at Rs.12.35 lakh, while the Harrier and Safari Red Dark start Rs.21.77 lakh and Rs.22.61 lakh, respectively. Like with the previous special editions, alterations to the Red Dark edition models are mostly cosmetic. The Harrier and Safari now get substantial tech and safety enhancements as well. Like the popular Safari, Nexon and Harrier Dark Editions, the newly launched Red Dark Edition gets an all-black ‘Oberon Black’ exterior colour scheme. The three special edition cars also have red brake callipers and a tiny red inlay on the front grille. For interiors, ‘Carnelian’ red seat upholstery, leatherette grab handles, grey trim on the dashboard and piano black and red accents on the steering wheel have been chosen. Tata Motors had only displayed the Safari and Harrier Red Dark Editions at the Auto Expo 2023 in January, with the Nexon Red Dark Edition being added to the line-up. With this, the Nexon is now available in three special versions, including the normal Dark Edition and Kaziranga Edition. Based on the top spec XZ+ Lux trim, the Nexon Red Dark gets amenities such as tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), in-built air purifier, wireless charger, cruise control, ventilated seats and connected car tech. The major attraction on the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions are the incorporation of ADAS safety tech. This features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), forward collision alert, lane departure warning, lane change assist and traffic sign recognition. Both SUVs are based on their top model and have the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and a 360-degree camera. Both the SUVs also include memory function for the driver’s seat. The Safari, also, receives ventilated seats for the second row, red ambient lighting around the door handles and around the panoramic sunroof, with cushions on the head restraints for second-row passengers. Several of the tech and safety enhancements found on the Harrier and Safari Red Dark are likely to be deployed on the basic models in the coming weeks. The three special variants of the SUVs carry forward the identical RDE compliant powertrains that were previously released by Tata Motors. Both of the engines in the Nexon -- a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol with 120 horsepower and a 1.5-liter diesel with 115 horsepower -- are mated to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic manual transmission. The 170 horsepower, 2.0-liter diesel engine is still available in the Harrier and Safari, together with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Red Dark Edition of the SUVs come with a three-year/1,000,000-kilometer warranty as standard from Tata. Air India announces world’s biggest order for 500 civilian aircraft Tata's historic deal!
