Tata Nexon to replace Maruti’s Vitara Brezza as on-ground sponsor in IPL

Tata Motors has signed a deal with the BCCI to be an official partner for the IPL 2018. A formal announcement is scheduled for Wednesday evening in Mumbai. Tata Nexon will drive in to occupy the space vacated by Maruti Suzuki, which had decided to snap its ties with the IPL after having displayed Vitara Brezza vehicles in the IPL venues for two years. Maruti in 2016 had signed a two-year deal with the BCCI to be an on-ground sponsor for the IPL.

The BCCI has earlier announced strategic time out and umpire partners for IPL 2018. Ceat Tyres, the strategic time-out partners for IPL since 2015, has extended the deal by five years, while PayTM has come on board as the Umpire partner.

The eleventh season of the Indian Premier League will see Tata Nixon joining them as the official partner this season. In an announcement made by the BCCI on Wednesday, Tata will officially announce the association later this evening with IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla and COO Hemang Amin presiding the press conference.

This year, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have been reinstated in the team draft after serving their respective two-year bans. Last year it was Mumbai Indians who lifted the title in a thriller beating MS Dhoni led Rising Pune Supergiant by one run. However, RPSG and Gujarat Lions will not be a part of this year's IPL as they replaced CSK and RR for a period of two-years.
