Women's leg got stuck as soon as he enters lift, dies painfully

Mumbai: A 26-year-old teacher of a school in Mumbai died after she got stuck in a lift, police said on Sunday. The accident took place when she was going inside the elevator. Then suddenly the elevator door closed. One leg of the woman teacher was inside the elevator and the rest body was outside the elevator. Then the lift started moving towards the 7th floor and the woman was seriously injured in the accident.

As soon as the accident was reported, the school staff rushed to help the teacher. They somehow pulled her out of the lift cabin and informed the Malad police. The victim was rushed to a nearby Lifeline Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The incident took place at St Mary's English School in Malad West. The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Genelle Fernandes.

The school administration said the accident took place between 1 pm and 2 pm on Friday. The woman teacher was standing on the sixth floor. She had to go to the second floor. But as soon as she entered the elevator, she got stuck. It is being said that when the lift started moving towards the seventh floor, the woman teacher got stuck between the lift and the wall, causing serious injuries to her. Hearing her screams, school staff and children rushed to the spot for assistance. But on reaching the hospital, the doctors declared her dead. At present, Malad police have registered a case of accidental death. Was the elevator flawed or was there any negligence? The police will question the agency maintaining the lift to know this. Statements of school staff will also be recorded.
