Hyderabad: On the occasion of its 21st Foundation Day celebrations on Wednesday, April 27, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will pass a political resolution stating that the party should play a key role in national politics for the greater good of the country, as the BJP exploits "communal sentiments" for political gain. The TRS party announced that this would be one of the 13 resolutions to be approved at the day-long festivities of its formation day, which would be attended by 3,000 delegates at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in the city. TRS will also approve a resolution asking for a struggle against the BJP-led central government's undemocratic approach, which is purportedly weakening the federal values outlined by the Indian Constitution. In addition, the party would pass a resolution to combat intolerance in order to preserve the country's culture of harmony. It would also pass a resolution calling for price regulation, which has placed an unsustainable burden on the poor and middle classes. The party will push for the passage and implementation of the 33% reservation law for women in the legislature, as well as the establishment of a Backward Caste Welfare Ministry in the Union Government. The TRS would approve a resolution congratulating the state government on purchasing rabi paddy produce notwithstanding the Centre's refusal. It would also pass a resolution calling for the Dalitbandhu plan to be implemented across the country by the Centre. The TRS would pass a resolution, among other things, requesting that the union government boost the reservation percentage in conformity with Telangana's social situation.
