Telangana: JP Nadda’s ‘grave’ comes in Nalgona ahead of by-polls

Hyderabad:  Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has denounced the latest incident  in which criminals desecrated JP Nadda's grave in Nalgonda and charged the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi, with "stooping to a new low" in politics.

"The TRS's feet are sliding, which is why they are engaging in wrongdoing. They (TRS) have no shame. For BJP President JP Nadda, a grave was created. The grave also had flowers and some rituals. He is still alive, a very well-liked individual, and the leader of the National political party. He was insulted, and this was a first for the nation" he said.

Over the delay in opening the Regional Fluoride Mitigation and Research Centre in the Choutuppal area of Munugode, some villagers buried a cemetery.

The incident came to light on Thursday ahead of the Munugode bypolls. When Nadda visited Munugode earlier in 2016, he made a commitment to establish the research centre at Malkapuran.

BJP would struggle in the upcoming election to liberate the state from TRS, he added. "Since the TRS party has been in power for nine years, the KCR (K Chandrasekhar Rao) family has been in charge of the state. We will struggle against family rule in the coming days. You must work to solve the fluoride problems. What kind of fairness is it that you are criticising our party and disparaging our national president when we have never won an election in the Nalgonda district?"

Reddy had said on Twitter, "BJP President being portrayed as a samadhi by TRS hooligans, who were encouraged to do so by a farming family, is shameful even by their own low standards. The culturally sensitive Munugodu voters will not put up with such obnoxious behaviour and will respond to them appropriately." Other BJP leaders have also denounced the incident and blamed the government.

"Digging a grave and putting a picture of J.P Nadda is stupidity. We will report it to the police and denounce it. Even after numerous appeals from the BJP over the fluoride institute at Munugode, the TRS government has become deaf and blind. They raised this issue before the bypoll since they failed and had no problem "NV Subhash, a BJP leader said. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri posted on Twitter, "Very vile, I tell you! A distressing and shameful new low in political discourse is now reached by this. This demonstrates how the dispensations in Telangana who want to oppose the BJP are obviously terrified by our momentum."

"The BJP's expanding dominance in Telangana. TRS committed this despicable crime out of panic about its impending assembly elections defeat, which is almost guaranteed. It is abhorrent. In due time, the state's citizens will undoubtedly respond to this act in a manner that is appropriate" Scindia tweete in Hindi.
