One maoist killed in clash with policemen

In Telangana, a Maoist was killed in an alleged encounter between Maoists and police in the forest area of Bhaddri-Kothagudam town on Sunday. The senior police officer said that teams of senior police officers were conducting a search operation in the Kurnapalli-Bodhnalli area when members of the banned outfit Communist Party of India (Maoist) suddenly started firing on the police. Then, one Maoist died in police retaliation.

Bhadradri Kothamgudam District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said that police spotted 10 armed Maoists at around 8.15 am as they searched the area. They opened fire on the police and a Maoist was killed in the encounter that followed. No police personnel was killed due to this. The Maoists killed in the encounter are about 25 years old, police said.

He also said that efforts are being made to ascertain his identity. Also said that one from the spot. 303 rifles and two kit bags have been seized. The search operation is on in the area. Earlier, on July 28 last month, 11 Naxalites, including a prize Naxalite, surrendered before the security forces after being affected by the Lone Varratu (Return Home) operation in Naxal affected Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
