Hyderabad: The Nizamabad police in Telangana have arrested three members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) for allegedly carrying out anti-national activities under the guise of training in karate and martial arts. The arrested accused have been identified as Sheikh Shahdullah, Abdul Mobin and Mohammad Imran. One of the accused has so far admitted to training 200 Muslims. These people were given the task of spreading instability in different parts of the country. The arrest was made on Wednesday (July 6, 2022). The Nizamabad police of Telangana are on the lookout for the remaining members of the network. According to media reports shared by the Nizamabad Police Commissioner, this training centre for karate and martial arts were being taught against the secularism of the country. Here sharia was provoked to enforce the law. Poor and middle-class youth were being recruited for training. All of them have confessed in the interrogation that their agenda includes attacking people of other religions. According to the police, the accused Imran Chikan and Abdul Mobin do welding work. All of them said that they have trained Muslims not only in Telangana but also in many districts of Andhra Pradesh. In this training, it was also taught to run deadly weapons under the guise of training in judo and martial arts. The police had received information about the three from Abdul Qadir, who was arrested two days ago. Qadir used to train the youth in karate and martial arts. According to the police commissioner, "Those arrested had appointed Qadir to impart martial arts training to Muslim youths. He had told Qadir that they would give him Rs 6 lakh and help him build his house.'' Action has been taken against all of them under 120-A, 120-B, 153-A, 141 IPC as well as Section 13(1) of the UAPA Act. According to the report, training materials, weapons and inflammatory literature were recovered from the possession of the accused. According to media reports, the kingpin of all these is 52-year-old Qadir. He used to provoke the youth coming to the training by saying that Hindus are your enemies. Police say that the people being prepared here were being instigated to target the Hindu community. The arrested accused were members of the first banned terror outfit SIMI. All of them later joined the PFI.
