Telecom providers raised 2.27m base in the month of February

6 telecom providers of India raised their subscription base by 2.27 million in the month of February. This data includes giant telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea. Bharti Airtel led the subscriber growth by adding 1.25 million new mobile customers, while idea 1.21 million and Vodafone 0.79 million.

Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) said in a statement, "The number of mobile phone subscribers showed an increase to 817.42 million in February 2017. The net increase in subscriber base is 2.27 million in the month of February."

COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews said, "The growth in the subscriptions indicates that consumer base is expanding and reaching new horizons in the country. We are an enabler of comprehensive growth. The industry has also ensured that government’s plans reach even the farthest corners of the country and everyone is equally benefited.”
