'Terrorism is biggest threat to the security of humanity,' says PM Modi

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at Hyderabad House. Thereafter, Prime Minister Modi while addressing said that both India and Egypt are worried about the spread of terrorism across the globe. We believe that terrorism is the biggest threat to the security of humanity. Both countries have also agreed that concrete steps should be taken to end cross-border terrorism.

He said that the two countries have held extensive talks on strengthening the food and supply chain affected by Corona and the subsequent Ukraine-Russia war. Both countries have agreed to take bilateral trade to $12 billion in the next 5 years. The Prime Minister said- In today's meeting, we have also decided to further strengthen cooperation between our defense industries and increase the exchange of counter-terrorist information and intelligence. The Prime Minister said that India and Egypt shared a myriad of ways to ensure 'defense' and 'security'. Over the years, there has been a substantial increase in joint exercise training and various capacity building programs between our armed forces.

Modi said that both countries have decided that under the India-Egypt Strategic Partnership, we will develop a long-term framework for more comprehensive assistance in the political, security, economic and scientific fields. He said that the strategic coordination between the two countries would be helpful in the field of peace and prosperity in the entire region. India and Egypt are among the oldest civilizations in the world. There has been a relationship between us for many thousands of years. More than four thousand years ago, trade with Egypt was done through the Lothal port of Gujarat. He said that the President of Egypt would attend the Republic Day program as the chief guest. It is a matter of pride and joy for the whole of India. The Prime Minister said that this year India has invited Egypt as the guest country under its G-20 presidency, which reflects our special friendship.
