The loss to the Army has been more than the total loss incurred in the entire year before Lockdown since Lockdown 1.0 was implemented. The onset of summer may also be a reason for the increase in incidents related to panic. As the snow starts melting near the Line of Control (LoC) at the beginning of summer, the militant activity in the Kashmir region increases.

Most of the infiltration routes in India remain closed during winter. Reports of a new terrorist organization, The Resistant Front (TRF) of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), are also being reported for the recent increase in attacks. A clear indicator of the rise in terrorist incidents is also the ceasefire violation, which has seen an increase of over 50 per cent this year compared to previous years. The activities of militants in Kashmir may increase, as it has been reported that about 300 terrorists are on the LoC to infiltrate into India from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
