9 prisoners including murder convicts escaped

Kohima: A case of the absconding of 9 prisoners from the jail in the Mon district of Nagaland has come to light. A massive operation is being conducted to nab them. The police officer has informed today i.e. Sunday (November 20) that the absconding prisoners also include undertrials and those convicted of murder. He said that the prisoners somehow managed to get hold of the keys of their cells, after which they fled in the early hours of Saturday.

As per reports, a case has been registered in this regard at Mon police station and an investigation is underway. The officer has said that 'Police have started a massive search operation. Has issued a lookout notice and alerted various agencies concerned. Prisoners' village councils have also been told to contact the police if they get any information regarding these absconding prisoners.'

Let us tell you that earlier there was news from Uttar Pradesh that 140 inmates of Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad district have been found HIV positive. Jail officials had given this information last Friday. District Jail Superintendent Alok Kumar said that the inmates of Ghaziabad Jail are examined by doctors at Antiretroviral Therapy Center and this center is located at MMG District Government Hospital.
