The list of fastest mobile Internet speeds has been release

The United States may be synonymous with global tech brands and innovation, but it is still some way behind in terms of average Internet connection speeds.

Mobile connections are even slower. The U.S. has an average mobile connection speed of 5.1 Mbps and a peak speed 19.1 Mbps.

To put that into perspective, Canada has an average speed of 8.8 Mbps and a peak mobile speed of 68.9 Mbps.

Globally, the U.S. is ranked 16th for average Internet connection speeds and 22ndfor peak connection speeds.

The Asia-Pacific and Europe both demonstrate noticeably faster connection speeds—South Korea is able to boast average speeds of 29 Mbps and a peak speed of 103.6 Mbps, for example.
