Indore: A marathon was held on the occasion of Indore Gaurav Diwas on Sunday. At 6 a.m., there was a Gaurav race in two different categories of 5 km from Nehru Stadium to Palasia and 10 km from Nehru Stadium to Rajwada. District Magistrate Manish Singh flagged off the runners. The marathon was attended by several dignitaries from Indore. MLA Rajesh Sonkar, Additional Collector RS Mandloi, Additional Commissioner Virbhadra Sharma and runners and sportspersons from Indore were present. All the runners in the race were felicitated with a citation by District Magistrate Manish Singh and former MLA Rajesh Sonkar. As part of Indore Gaurav Diwas, the main function will be held at Nehru Stadium on May 31 at 5 pm. Renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform in it. Noted lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir will narrate the saga of Lokmata Devi Ahilya's life. In this event, the enlightened people and others who have illuminated the name of Indore in the country and abroad will also be honoured. The distribution of entry passes started from 10 prominent places in Indore from 8 am on Sunday to attend the function. Khajrana Ganesh Mandir Discourse Hall, Ranjit Hanuman Mandir Complex, City Bus Office Complex, Near Bajajkhana Chowk, Chhappan Shop, Krishnapura Chhatri, Sapna Sangeeta Complex, Near Bhanwarkuan Chauraha, Near Vijay Nagar Zonal Safter and Near Bada Ganapati Temple, these entry passes are being distributed which will continue till 11 am. The person who took the pass was given only a maximum of two passes along with a copy of the Aadhaar card as an identity. The district magistrate outlined the ceremony of May 31 and said that the CM will participate in all the celebrations on this day. Eminent singers Shreya Ghoshal and Manoj Muttanshir will give their performances at the main function. Colourful fireworks and laser show ceremonies have also been held at Nehru Stadium. Admission to the ceremony will be granted on a pass basis. The passes will be given on the basis of identity cards at 10 places scheduled from 8 am on Sunday.
