Man cheated around 50 lakhs from Goldsmith

Pune: A bizarre incident has come to the fore from Hadaspur. A goldsmith filed a complaint with the police that a person had cheated about Rs 50 lakh by giving him sand. The person who runs the Goldsmith's shop told the police that the person brought him 4 kilos of sand from Bengal and said that the sand would be converted into gold when it was heated. The person took Rs 30 lakh and 48 Tola gold in lieu of this 4 kg sand. Goldsmith felt cheated when he warmed the sand. The sand did not change in gold and became black.

The goldsmith complained about this at the police station. He told the police, "I have known this person for the past one year. This person came to me to purchase the ring. After which he gradually made a family relationship with me and my family. The victim told the police that he was constantly in his contact and also helped in household chores.

According to the victim, he had won his faith, which led goldsmith to rely on him and gave him Rs 30 lakh and 48 Tola gold in lieu of 4 kg of sand. The police has filed an FIR under section 430, 406 and 34 in the case and is engaged in search of the offender. Police said that the case also includes two other persons who are being searched by the police.
