Chandigarh: In Haryana's Rewari, a case of hiding one's identity and marrying a girl of another religion has come to light. The accused also converted the girl at gunpoint and kept her hostage in the house for three years. During this, the accused and his brother raped the victim several times. According to the report, Mausam Khan trapped the girl in his love trap by calling himself Prem, then kidnapped the girl from the house and took her to Haridwar and got married with her there. After this, Mausam's father and other family members took her to the village. After being taken to the village, the victim was made a Muslim at gunpoint and then married. The victim alleges that she was held hostage in the house for three years, during which the accused and his brother raped her several times. Somehow the victim escaped from their clutches and reached her family members and lodged a police complaint against the main accused and other members of his family. A girl from a colony in Dharuhera area has informed the police that in the year 2020, she was studying in BA second year. During this time she came in contact with a young man named Prem. The young man gave her expensive gifts and said that his relative is on a big post, he will get the girl employed. The young man trapped her in the love trap by telling fake identity and lying. On 18 November 2020, the youth forcibly took her to Haridwar. Raped her there and married her the next day after taking her to the temple. On 20 November 2020, the youth's father, uncle, tau and other relatives came to Haridwar and brought her by car to Uton village of Nuh. In the village, the girl was forcibly made a Muslim and she was married off at gunpoint. Then the girl came to know that Prem's real name is Mausam Khan. When she protested after finding out the truth, the entire family confined her in the house. Mausam Khan's brother Salim raped her several times. All the family members of the accused used to beat her. On April 18 also she was beaten up so much that she became half-dead. On April 19, the family members of the accused had gone to the farm. Meanwhile, the victim escaped from there after getting a chance and reached Dharuhera directly to her family. The family reached the Dharuhera police station with the daughter and now lodged an FIR. Police have registered a case against Mausam Khan, his father Tahir, brother Salim and others under various sections including conspiracy to marry, rape, kidnapping.
