The world's tallest bridge is just about to be ready... know what is the specialty of this bridge being built on Chenab

Srinagar: The Ministry of Railwayson Thursday shared pictures of the world's highest rail bridge being built over the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir on social media site Twitter. The bridge, which is being built over the Chenab river, will work to connect Kashmir with other parts of the country in all kinds of weather. In a tweet, the Ministry of Railways wrote, "Chenab Bridge will soon bring all-weather rail connectivity to Kashmir.  

 

The height of this bridge over the Chenab river is 359 meters from the river bed. The bridge is being constructed on Katra-Banihal railway section in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of Rs.279.49 crore. The bridge is being constructed under Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (krcl), Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link (usbrl) project. It will connect Kashmir to other parts of the country through railways.

This bridge has been constructed of structural steel. It also has the ability to withstand temperatures ranging from minus 10 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius. That means the weather of Jammu and Kashmir will not have any impact on this bridge and the bridge will continue to run without any problems. Let us know that, the world's highest bridge is being built on the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir. The 'Chenab Bridge' is likely to be operational for rail traffic by December 2022.
