London: A £8 billion ($9.87 billion) takeover of sandwich chain Subway is reportedly being considered by the billionaire British Muslims Issa brothers, according to media reports. According to reports, Mohsin and Zuber, who built their business empire out of a single petrol station in the Greater Manchester region in 2001, are planning to purchase the chain, which had more than 37,000 locations across more than 100 countries in 2021. The brothers share ownership of the Euro Garages company with TDR Capital, which manages more than 6,600 petrol stations worldwide and has Subway restaurants at 340 of its locations. The EG Group, the largest franchise owner of KFC in Europe, completed the £6.8 billion acquisition of supermarket giant Asda in 2021.
