Wipro said in a BSE filing today that Capgemini executive Thierry Delaporte has been elected as its chief executive officer and managing director. Delaporte is set to take over on June 1. He left the technology firm after four years citing 'family commitments'. Delaporte was the Chief Operating Officer of the Capgemini Group and a member of its Group Executive Board. During his twenty-five-year career with Capgemini, he has held a number of top positions, including CEO of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit and head of all global service lines. He has also led the change agenda. "I'm pleased to welcome Thierry as the CEO and Managing Director of the company. Thierry has an exceptional leadership track record, strong international performance, deep strategic expertise, building long-standing customer relationships Rishad Premji, Chairman of Wipro Limited, has a unique ability and long experience. Thierry holds a bachelor's degree in Economy and Finance from Economy Po Paris and a Masters in Law from Sorbonne University. He is also the co-founder and president of the not-for-profit organization Life Project 4 Youth."
